Finding the Truth

Last Sunday I skipped church. That isn't to say that I skipped having time with God. Because I most certainly did have time with God. I studied some things in the Bible that have been niggling in the back of my mind. I know in my heart and in my mind that Jesus is the only way to heaven.
"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6

I have been told that I have to pray and ask for Jesus to come into my heart for salvation. I have done that. Many years ago. What I was unsure of is if that was Biblical. And it is.
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." —Revelation 3:20

We must open the door for Him. He will not come in without an invitation. Once we have prayed and asked Him in, we must take it one step further.
"If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Romans 10:9-10

We cannot just keep it all inside. We have to say out loud that Jesus is our Lord! This is all Biblical. Everything that I have been told. No one bothered to tell me where it was written down. That is why I decided to do my own research. It was so fulfilling to find those answers on my own in God's word!
